W32.Klez.gen_at_mm and it's variants... W32.klez.a_at_mm and so forth are
mail worms. It hits your emailer, in this case it's outlook and
outlook
express that is hit the hardest and searches for an email addy book
and
then sends itself out to all your friends on the list. Plus it sends
itself with your name in the header so the person getting it thinks it
came from you. It also does something else, once it hits your comp it
drops a virus, sometimes, called ElKern that infects files over open
shares and mapped drives. It also tries to infect all executable files
in the \Windows\System folder. If it is run under Windows NT/2000,
then
it crashes when it is first activated. If it is run under Windows 9x
and you have a mapped network share that is write-protected, then this
virus crashes the computer after a short period of time. Some files
that become infected with this virus do not change in size. This virus
destroys all files on locally connected drives, including mapped
drives.
The virus activates on March 13 and September 13.

Symantec gives tools for free for removing the worm and virus.
