If they are targeting groups for adult content, then they are in
violation of the First Amendment.
"Free speech, Free press, the right to peaceable assembly".
As I understand, according to copyright law, the only time can a
corporation or company go after someone for violating a copyright or
patent is when that person or people are makeing money off of
copywritten material or committing some form of piracy.
It is my impression that in general principal Yahoo stands in
violation of the First Amendment for nuking those groups.

Yahoo should have given a warning of what they were about to do and
why.
Yahoo should have also provided the e-groups a certain amount of
time to remove the material in question or face being deleted.

If they are targeting groups at the request of W.B or Disney, that
contain images that they lay claim to, the best thing to do will be
to change the coloring and do some minor alterations (name of
character and image) so that the images won't have any likeness to
the copywritten characters.
I believe as well as hope that will be sufficient in combating
Yahell's antics.
