True enough. But something also has to be said about
being so nieve about something that was "free"
in the first place. It isn't so "free" now, is
it. If "free" means it comes with half a
gallon of "free" censorship, than somebody,
somewhere was blue skying when they thought that
something like this might not happen.
I'm not fixing blame, or anything. This is the main
reason for my own stand on this whole mess. Now if we
were a bunch of stupid jerks, right off a wagon train,
I could see where all this might be a problem.
But this is the biggest non problem I've seen in a
year.
There is more computer equipment and know-how floating
around the Furry Community than in some poor third
world countries. There are just two things lacking
here.
Unity and the *will* to respond.
(Snip)
It no longer matters *why* they are doing it. They
don't need a reason. Enough stuff about the problem.
Problems hypnotize, solutions Vitalize.

Fair enough. I have devoted a fair amount of thinking
to this. One answer is obvious to anyone whose ever
been on e-bay.
Paypal, is one part of a solution, for all its warts,
and there are a few, it works, mostly.
I know, I know, not everybody can use paypal. Sitting
here right now, I can't either. But we must consider
all possible answers if we're going to cobble together
a solution that works.
Solution second, a bank account into which people can
deposit money by check, bank draft, wire and other
means. Charities do it, and so do NPO's (Non profit
organizations)
Yes, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this
solution will require some drive and organization.
Most of The Furry Cons out there have some kind of
loose business structure behind them, so does at least
one other Furry based ISP that I know of.
Something to consider, but given the huge motivational
factors I've seen in Furries in general, granted, not
very likely. But as I said, we must consider every
solution.
Third solution. Furries gather at conventions, room
parties, anime club meetings, etc etc. all the time.
If you can't find a way to send a buck, give a friend
a buck, and ask him/her to send it for you.
There are ways around this problem. In a sad Human
world that turns and feeds on it, moving money should
not be, in the end, anymore of a problem for us. All
we have to do is learn to use the system(s) already in
place.
Any other Ideas? I freely admit that I may have missed
some nuances.
