An excellent observation, my good fellow. I've always
recommended "Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist" by Stephen Rogers
Peck (ISBN# 0-19-503095-8). It shows various body types, ages,
genders, races, etcetera, as well as skeletal, muscular, and organic
structures. It's not too difficult to apply fur to the humanoid form.
Critique is pretty tricky to do properly. I hated getting
critiqued when I was younger, but I'm glad I did, because it made me
a better artist. The most difficult thing, I think, is trying to
figure out how the subject will react to the critique.
