Thank you for the tips, I will remember that and I have ideas about where to
go and look for used books downtown. Your advice was very helpful. May be a
while though before I try drawing any skunks, except for that picture of
Sabrina I did in October of 2000. It was my first real attempt at art.

Hey, a plan is a good thing.
You don't have to Necessarily have to get those particular volumes,
they're just ones that we've looked at and liked. There are
approximately seven billion decent "how to draw" books out there, and
you just need to find one that works for you. Personally, i'd suggest
looking into a good used book store. (hell, i reccomend that anyway.
you can find awesome books for decent prices. check out terry
pratchett and spider robinson in the fantasy/SF section!)
Find a clerk, ask them where you'd find books on learning to draw,
they'll probably show you a whole shelf full. Look through them, check
out their examples and instructions, and find something that seems
understandable. If that falls through, try a regular book store. any
decent one will have a "how to" art section. Once you've found your
book, grab a pencil and a ream of copier paper, and go to it. I think
it was Chuck Jones who said "every artist has 10,000 bad pictures inside
them. it's best to get them out as quickly as possible."
get some feedback, and work on the bits that need working on.
good luck!
