I've been pestering Mr Hardiman for model sheets for a
while, but patience is a virtue, etc etc.

Yes, a BIO and model sheet are most helpful when doing fan
art, but someone has to generate them to start with. :-)

If you try to mimic her position, you'll find it is not
very natural; your arm would normally curve downwards
infront of you. Yes, you could raise your arm like that,
but the angles would still be different. Practice and
learn; we all do it!

It is a good progression from pencil. It forces you to
thing more about your lines. Don't 'fill in' with ink;
leave it so you can colour with pencil later if you want.
Use a fine marker (or thick ball point) and go over your
lines, then use a thicker marker for accents and
highlighted edges. Have a play; the results, once you get
it working, are well worth it.

Use 'hard' or 'sharp' edges that suggest a solid surface.
You can use angular corners as opposed to curves,
suggesting she is more 'sculpted' as opposed to a natural
flowing shape. You can have curves, just make them harsh.

Easy. Same as you would for any other type surface. Sharp
corners again. *shrugs*

Sounds like you've got plenty of firepower using Photoshop;
Irfanview was a lightweight option for those not possessing
(like me) a digital editing application.

Cool; more space we save, the more pics we can upload.

Don't worry about 'drawing in a certain style'. The way
you draw will eventually have a 'preferred' style, that
will subsequently be recognised as yours. Looks at / copy
/refer to someone you like. Don't worry, you are VERY
unlikely to mirror them exactly. And if they are a good
artist, then I still don't view that as a problem! "Oh
bother, all my art looks like it was drawn by James
Hardiman..." I'm sure that would be a horrible thing! :-P

You are at the similar point to me in regard to you need to
work with structuring to learn how things 'sit together'.
You work from an existing structure to get the basic shape
correct, then fill in the details yourself. Should not be
confused with tracing where you just 'copy the whole
thing'.

People are usually happy to receive fan art. :-)

I thought of the pic on the Skunkworks Tribute book by EWS
with Lori and the Bass Bomb vibrator - the only vibrator
that uses lantern size batteries... :-)

Don't think Des does feedback and Jim, by his own
admission, is not good at describing what he sees. He can
just 'tell if something is wrong' but not often able to say
why.
Scrapper, Black Dragon. Artistic assistance on request.
