I know this is SO off topic but, if you go into surgery and need a cath, they put it in once you're already unconscious. Taking it out is much easier on the body than the insertion. Much nicer that way.

Tell them to use *lots* of lube. Do whatever mental tricks to avoid
getting an erection during the insertion process. Also, you can ask
them for a 'texas catheter', which is basically a condom with a tube in
the end that leads down to the collection bag. No insertion of tubes
into precious bodily parts needed with that one. Depending on what
procedure that is being done, the texas cath may be a viable option.
