I knew something was odd when I had my first crush, when I was about 6
years old, on Bugs Bunny. I just figured that's what cartoons were
about and I'd grow out of it.
I first discovered that there were other people actually into this
sort of thing when I first saw the comic book "Bizarre Sex" and the
Omaha the Cat Dancer stories. I knew there was a "fandom" when I saw
the comic book "Critters". I discovered the online fandom when I got
onto FidoNet in about 1993 and found the XA/NTH BBS in Toronto and
their stash of (then rather primitive but still enticing) furry .GIF
porn, then found alt.fan.furry. From there I found FurryMuck in 1995.
And here I am.
