Ah, I see. Animals do mature faster then people anyway. And I can imagine that in a way, having a short childhood but a longer adult life might explain at least a little of that 'playfullness' which makes the girls so endearing. I don't know, I'd try and flesh that idea out more, but I have to get to work.
Hopefully though the human-ish part of them will give them a nice long 70+ year lifespan.

Not to worry, man. Like their four-legged ancestors, the folks in
that world actually have relatively short childhoods. They're
considered adults at the age of either 15 or16, able to drink alcohol
at 18, and able to legally drive at 16. In the trio's case, they'd
never bothered to get licenses since they always had mom or friends
to drive them around. And hey, who _wouldn't_ give them a lift
somewhere?
Also, on a related note, high school is completed at either 15 or
16 (I'm not on the same computer as the site info, so I can't quote
it exactly). But in any case, they are most certainly legal (our
rules don't apply here, especially when, in their world, you are
legally able to kill when defending yourself against an aggressor
with ill intent. Try that here, and you'll probably be serving life
while the criminal and his kin get all the benefits society has to
offer.)
