I didn't do much to the XS850, as the factory look was so wild.
(Other than re-jet the carbs for altitude.) I loved that bike, leaky
petcocks and all.

My last bike before the accident was a Kawi ZR-7 (nice and naked, with
an honest-to-goodness air cooled mill). I had fun with that, custom
holeshot flyscreen and exhaust, braided brake lines, jet kit, and K&N
filters. That was a real "think and be there" bike, especially after
I replaced the Dunlops with Bridgestone BT-02's.

As wrecked as it was, a friend managed to take it and resurrect it.
Except he painted it RED. Aaaaagh! (It was a gorgeous blue.)

Yes. I still miss riding - about six months after my accident we were
in Vegas and went to the big "Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit (I have
the book and DVD as well). It hurt a bit to know I could never ride
'em, but I still stared for hours.

Well, now we are. :-)
