Brandon (her ex-husband) was a skunk. Only similar species can
breed (you won't find any combo abominations in their world), but
dissimilar species can engage in all the sex they want without fear of
reproduction.
As such, I would imagine Val would shy away from any male skunks at
this point in her life. No need to have to repeat the whole ordeal of
raising kids again!
