Nah, I'm sure folks spank the monkey to the pictures (after all,
there aren't any articles to read!), just as I'm certain there are
some people who make drawings of themselves with the characters.
Hell, I don't have any problem with someone having a doll or
something made. I just cannot understand the "how" or "why" behind
said person having "sex" with a stuffed toy. Obviously, I must not
be from that particular generation. ;)
-Oh, great... You had to use the ¨spank the monkey¨ expression, didn´t you? Now I´m thinking of an oddball friend of mine I met during my volunteer years over at an American Teen Center in Germany. His nickname was ¨Sects Monkey.¨ Try reading that without getting any ideas.

Unfortunately, there's always going to be objection in our
societies. It's human nature. (And if you want to talk about
objections, you should listen to some of Des's).

-In my experience, it´s human nature to be stupid and act stupid towards a subject, person, place, or thing that they don´t understand. Furries seem to be the most misunderstood thing in this world so far that of course there´s going to be some idiot that jumps to conclusions about furries and starts spitting out lies about us.
I´ve had the misfortune to find one such guy has his own site. And what is the site´s subject? Furry hating. The name of the site is just as stupid as the guy is, too.
