Copyright defines that the original work is the property of the
creator. Copies are protected as the creator's property unless
explicitly allowed to be made and taken by another by copyright law.
Even though the original creation is not involved, the copies themselves
are considered to be the creator's property.
Theft: To steal.
Steal: To take (the property of one or others) without permission or right.
Copyright infringement may not be theft.
The folks who were accused of theft, however, did take the property of
another without permission or right.
The thieves never want to be known as thieves. They'll do anything to
try to justify their actions. Sadly, justifications do not make them
anything better than what they are: thieves.
