half a year already and you are still not coming out with the awesome
porn like you used too. i have a funny feeling that this ordeal that
you went through took too much life out of you to be able to invent
or create like you were able to. I'm actually done now. I loved
meeting you in person and I also enjoyed your artwork alot but you
have to face it just like me. You are not coming back. The skunkworks
is done. Its over. Onyx will be missed. So will her mom but please if
you're done just say so. Bye James
If you want to leave the group, I think there's a link on the group
homepage that walks you through the process. Here's the address:

Sorry to hear you want to leave, man. Yeah, the various medical
situations have taken a big chunk out of me, but the main reason for
lack of material is that I no longer am able to spend the amount of
time on it that I used to. Years ago, I was able to make enough
money from the sales of anthropomorphic artwork to allow me to work
another job only part-time. But these days, with so much online
piracy, I can no longer rely on this type of artwork to provide a
decent income (as far as side-jobs go).
So I work full-time now as an artist, and can only produce the
furry stuff when I'm not working on junk for a client or a local
show. Bear in mind also, drawing full-time for a job doesn't
necessarily make one want to draw when they're "off work". Quite
honestly, most of the time after work, I usually kick back and tinker
with my bikes or go riding. Required downtime, m'man.
I'm also holding off on putting the new work out until I have the
site up, since I'd like to have as much eye candy as possible. And
again, it's taking so long due to medical issues and work.
Plus, I'm kinda changing the direction of Skunkworks a bit. I'll
still draw folios and prints, but aside from the comics that will be
collected in the future Skunkworks Collection book (including several
previously unpublished ones), there won't be any more Skunkworks
comics. My art style has strayed too far from the cartoonish style I
used before, and I don't think it will work with the joke comics at
all (no exaggerated expressions, doubletakes, etcetera). The comics
I _will_ be focusing on are the stories that run along with Caterwaul
Inc., which has been rewritten and is much grittier and realistic
than prior work.
It's true that I will not be able to crank out artwork like I did
before. Back then, I had two good eyes and was ten years younger!
The days of putting out 6-7 folios and a dozen or more prints per
year are gone, I'm afraid. The best I can do is put out 3, maybe 4,
folios per year, and maybe 6-8 prints. The artwork style is far more
detailed now, and since I'm only working with one eye (whose
continued service is questionable at this point), it's going to take
a LOT longer to produce the art. But I can guarantee it will blow
the shit out of any of my previous work. That, you can bet on.
Of course, all this doesn't take the various events of my personal
life into account, either. But since that aspect is not detailed in
an online journal anywhere, I think I'll keep it off the table. ;P
