Sadly, I can confirm from experience, Kit is correct. Using the Medion on its own seemed okay, then I picked up my Intuos 1 (Wacom) and realised that even the ancient Wacom was better than the Medion. On paper, specs suggested the Medion should equal or better the Intuos 1, but it was not the case.

Most other brands also need a battery in the stylus and tend to go to sleep to save power, requiring you to tap before using if you haven't use the stylus for about a minute. This can be very tedious.

I resisted believing that "Wacom is just so good", but my testing has shown that it is really the only brand worth buying if you are serious about your drawing. For doing sprites as Claw is suggesting, the other brand may be okay, but I'd still advocate holding off and getting a Wacom that supports tilt functionality- you'll be far happier with the result, for a lot longer. Second hand tablets tend to really price crash - good for buying, not good for selling.
