Interesting that they compare the aim of gene tools: "The goal is to make ordering a gene that produces a particular chemical or confers resistance to a specific drug as easy as ordering a pizza."
You hope a lot of care is going into these things, else we may get a real version of, Omega Man, 28 Days Later or any of those other disease disaster movies.
But it does show that things are likely to be _very_ different in a century or two from now!
