Though wouldn't they want a nice plain white Ford Transit or other such non-descript van if they truly wanted to be 'obviously anonymous'? 'Cos no one would notice a 'fully sic mate' custom van just loitering in the car park. Oh, hang on, they do that anyway... (with the doof-doof music cranking, usually). Yeah, no one would pay it any attention... >_<
Makes you wonder if they would get a better power source than petrol. Some of my futuristic vehicles featured 'hydroxy' power (hydrogen and oxygen derived from splitting water, which is not energy efficient as a total system in our current technology levels!). Or whether they'd even bother with reciprocating style engines. Quite amusing that over umpteen years of car technology development, cars are not really any more efficient than they were back in the 1950's. Emissions may be lower, power outputs are increased, but actual fuel efficiency for size of vehicle - not really.
Pictures look good - shows you like drawing cars. :-) And because you have an understanding of how the car actually works, I can see things are put in such a way that the car _could_ be built, as opposed to an Ed Roth style vehicle where it just wouldn't quite work (straight-axle gasser or not!)
Great to see the 'model sheets' for Caterwaul; looks more like they are action-adventure type characters as opposed to 'whacking material'. Will be good to see the web site when it is updated and UP! Do you copy/paste the picture then 'redraw' the sketch with clothes or light box the image? I can't imagine you going 'human photo copier' to get so close to the original in all its detail.
Cat 'Nova - good to see you're still pushing pencil! Definitely a fascination with Val, for sure! I haven't done any drawing for a while, so should really get to and ink another of your pictures - they're good practise for me.

The van was used in the second story because 5 of the 7 group members had to travel to another city in order to apprehend/rescue their intended targets (the kids from Lot Six). They have a few other vehicles for their use, but the only one large enough to handle that many people was the van. Their other large-capacity vehicle is an airship, which would look rather suspicious if it landed in the parking lot of a shopping mall...
