Funny you should say that. I remember a science fiction story from many years ago about an alien world of humanoids where they have discovered and incorporated a virus which makes them live for hundreds of years-only to discover that the result of the virus is that it ruined their reproductive process and the males all died out, with the result that all the rest of the aliens would die out as well. Not a happy scenario.
