I respectfully disagree. "One day" covers a LOT of time. I believe that you are forgetting just how dramatically cultures can change. In the time of the Roman Empire people used to take their families to the coliseum to watch wild animals kill and devour slaves. Freaks were highly valued and were given away as presents. That was only 2000 years ago. What kinds of creatures would the Romans have created if they had had the ability to create morphs? What will people be like in another 2000 years? Will people even care if morphs are created in mass to be slaves to please the many tastes of the masses? It's possible that humans will destroy all life on the earth before that happens. But it's also possible that we won't.
My guess is that eventually there will be a furry fan with all of the technology he needs to create the first morphs in a culture that doesn't care. I think they will be created as art but not slaves. But the only way that we will know for sure how that turns out involves reincarnating a few time because it isn't going to happen on our life time. :)

If we humans cannot even get along with our own kind, do you really think we'd get along with another sentient species? Our own nature condemns us and limits us, I'm afraid.
