Technically in our world animals are regional already. There's even more than one type of skunk. North American skunks are Striped Skunks. But you also have the Spotted Skunk and one other that I can't think the name of right now. Though they're all found in North America, the Striped Skunk is the most common. Spotted Skunks are found in only certain areas.

Subject: [SkunkworksAMA] Skunkworks universe species locations?

In our universe, different races come from certain areas, blacks from Africa,
Arabs from the Middle East, Asians, Hispanics, etc.

Would species in the Skunkworks universe be from certain areas, also?

For example, Jay Naylor likes using Hyenas to represent blacks in his artwork.

Skunks are North American, as are Raccoons.

I know that with the advent of air travel and such, different species would live
in areas far from their point of origin.

And would some species have been relocated forcefully, the way most blacks in
the US were brought here as slaves?
