Believe me, I have no objections at all as to what Jim wishes to do with his world, characters, universe, etc.; In any field where artistic talent is the prime driving force, sometimes one needs to go in a different direction, no matter what the admirers of the previous work think/feel, or turn from it forever. That's just the way it is. Personally I like Jim's mainstream art more. In the end, all of Jim's work is awesome, and I think he's one of the most talented people I have ever had the honor and pleasure of talking to.
If this is the Trio's swansong, then that's up to Jim. Regardless, I will always admire him for a talent that I don't have and despite some people saying that anyone can learn to draw, I disagree. Not everyone can be a sword maker, but it's a trade that I have an affinity and talent for, much like Jim's ability to put pen, ink and paint to paper.
I wouldn't mind a group that is dedicated to his non-furry work, just because he is so talented. Good is good, and Jim is one of the best, regardless.
There is no such thing as a dream that you cannot obtain.
You may have to work for it, however.
