Hi there!
Thanks for joining the group! It's not real fast-paced, but things do get moved around from time to time to make way for new (or previously unseen) stuff.
As for your question, the only "art course" I ever had was a short summer class which lasted a couple weeks. I think I was 9 or 10 when I took it. It introduced me to painting, watercolor, pen & ink, stippling and chalks/pastels, as well as sketching. I was already doing sketching and inking before I got into the course, but it helped expose me to different methods and styles.
I flunked every art class I ever had while in school, though that was because they were boring. I understand that public schools have to make the classes structured so that even someone who cannot draw would be able to stand a chance at passing the class, but if there's no challenge to it, I just don't even bother.
The majority of the stuff I've learned or experimented with is self-taught. I have a decent-sized library of reference and tutorial books, some of which are very old, and a few of them can be found here:

Hope this helps answer your question!
