I can't speak about the rest of his family, but I had the distinct pleasure of meeting his mom at CF11. Yes, his mom. She was working the booth, no less. I told her that someone had recommended the portfolio "Mixed Breeds", but she told me that it was sold out, however "...a lot of people really like the portfolio 'Hardcore'..." and she showed me the binder. Yes, of course I bought a copy (should have bought far more.) She was really cool and amazingly supportive of Jim and his art. If I drew things like Jim did, my mom would have a coronary.
Scrapper, if you are in contact with his family at all, please extend my condolences to them and tell his mom "Thank you." She is an amazing woman and I am very glad to have met her.
Sincerely,
Rod Basler, aka Thorulf
Having been with Jim when he was in florida for some time I got to spend some time with his mom, she was an always will be awesome :P Though having 2 Jims in the house was awkward at times.. So I’d start hearing “JAMES MICHEAL!” so he knew it was him LOL! It was funny. :P
