Yes, I used to exchange email with him, but like the creature he named himself after (Thylacine - 'Tasmanian Tiger'), seems to have become extinct, at least on this group and that email address anyway.

Going by the way Jim and I operate similarly, he will have known his passwords and nothing that could compromise 'primary access' will be written down. His moderator account had 'full control', but I am unsure if mine does - I know at one stage mine did not have the same level of control as him; I just hope he has increased my access, else we could be a little hamstrung. I will look into it and see what I can access.

The group may need a bit of 're-ordering' to ensure all things are in logical places, but agree we should still have an area for fan art. May have to define some rules for uploading so we don't run out of storage too quickly.

Plus it provides redundancy in regard to moderator accounts and even access (amazing how your internet link being down can really mess up access). I will consider those who may be interested, but I will be looking for someone who has good understanding of Jim's work (or the way he thinks) so that when it comes to making decisions to approve or reject messages, we continue to do it in a away Jim would have wanted (as though he is still reading alone - he may be - heavenly internet?).

I think part of the reason the group has lasted so long is because of the tight control - other than spam, it is also prone to draw attention from service providers (y_at_h0o0) who may just randomly close down an 'uncontrolled' group, as we have seen in the past.
>Group can hammer out what it thinks needs to be done to preserve Jim's creations.

I am also looking at options that include external web sites / servers; I'll consider and put options to the group before making any moves.

Yes, Jim's tech drawings are certainly impressive - and he knew what he was drawing and how it worked, not just 'sticking boxes on'.

A many faceted, warped thing, that we all loved. :-D

Amen to that!
Scrapper, Black Dragon, (it is hopefully not true that) there can be only one.
