>Ok, everyone, this is Pauline Hardiman here. I want you all to know we are about to wrap up the Skunkworks Graphic Novel that my son, Jim, started several years ago.
>
That's serious awesome, fantastic, wonderful news!
>August 29th will be the 2nd anniversary of Jim's death.
>
And you have first-hand experienced how much effort, time and commitment art projects can take! I remember submitting to South Fur Lands fanzine and being involved with the binding that even a 'relatively small' project can use huge time and effort (and dollars if not careful!).
>You ALL know how Jim was a stickler for detail.
>
Amen to that! When it came to drawing, Jim always loved keeping detail bordering on the extreme end of the spectrum.
>we have had 3 colorists work on this graphic novel project.
>
And color too - this is going to be seriously special! Our thanks to the colorists and those who arranged for their participation.
>huge THANK YOU to Jason Canty for your mega patience with me and the changes that I insisted on for Jim's Skunkworks Graphic Novel. This was Jim's creation and it had to reflect what Jim would have liked it to look like.
>
I expect many people will be wishing thanks upon Jason, yourself and the many others who have posthumously completed Jim's work.
> Something he would be very proud of even though he is not here to see its completion.
>
And I expect those involved will be equally proud - and rightly so from what you are suggesting.
> I had ask Jason Canty to try to get this project completed by the 2nd anniversary of Jim's death. I can tell you this.... If it isn't done by then, it will be pretty close to that time frame...
>
That's pretty exciting news - if we get links to "where to buy", posting the detail here, plus all the usual places should get an excellent result.
> I have a pretty good idea of the high expectations that Jim's fans have of him, even after death.
>
Reckon we'll cut Jim some slack, now that he's deceased - probably asking a bit much to get him to produce any more drawings at this stage... ;-) But awesome to hear that the project is being taken so seriously and "keeping in style" as Jim would have done.
> Well, we all wanted it DONE too, but we wanted it done RIGHT. That takes time.
>
And if it is all done and right, then it will have been worth the wait.
> Once completed, I think Jim will look in from wherever he is in his next life, and give this project a thumbs up and a wink.
>
Could ask Penance to check in on Jim? Though wasn't she banished to the earthly realm?
> His art and his sense of humor will live on forever... in our hearts & memories for those who knew him; and if you didn't get a chance to meet him, just read this graphic novel because he has drawn himself as he really looked at the time into the stories.
>
Jim never wanted to be 'recognised' with photographs online, so many of us only knew him by his words, pictures and the extremely rare photo.
> I so miss him, but I only need to read some of his comics to know he lives on.
>
Yeah, it is just not the same without Jim; even with his occasional long absences, it was always awesome when he'd get online and share a few posts, answer questions or reveal a picture of his latest project. I am certainly looking forward to this novel coming out.
Many thanks for the work you and others have put into making this come to fruition, thanks for the update and we look forward to news of the release soon.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, not everything comes to those who wait - sometimes you need to go get.
