I think I'm seeing a pattern. Drawing furry porn shortens you life... Wonder if looking at it has the same effect?
>I'm definitely sorry Skunked.Com went away. Granted, it was never well maintained anyway, but dammit, it was Jim's online home! And the only place you could find the skunk sisters' last name if you knew the secret. >I can't talk about page maintenance as I still haven't written the content for the page for the company I am working for, which I am supposed to have done, but keep "not getting to it". I would have liked to have thought that someone who did know what they were doing (certainly not me with web stuff) could have put back the last page sets as they were and maybe just loaded a heap of images (even if just the nicer ones) into a few galleries to showcase Jim's work. But no.
> To tell the truth, I miss Jim, he was a great guy. Sadly, though, without new art from someone, people move on, despite the reasons.>Oh certainly - you're only interested as long as there is something to hold your interest. If you've been, seen and more enthused by other things these days (family, work, real life?) you tend to move on.
>I heard his mom was putting together a compilation on Jim's art, but that's all I ever heard.>I think we've all heard that, but allowing the compiled book has only been acquired by a few, the probability of JMH's art getting compiled and doing anything more than sitting in a pile is slim. Unfortunately, creative types don't often have great business skills - JMH seemed to have things more professionally together than many artists I've dealt with. Tokes, the artist who used to draw the 'Ed Roth style' cartoon on the back of the centre-fold pinup used to also do the back page "Stinkfinger" comic; when he stopped drawing for the magazine, I suggested he release a compilation book (or two - he was published in every monthly issue for ~15 years!), while there was still enthusiasm. He wouldn't do it - didn't want to put the effort in to compile the artwork, even with my help, and cash in for a second time on all that work he had done over the years. Yet he was the first one to ever say "it's all about the dollar". *shrugs* So if someone isn't truly interested in the final product (which I suspect Jim's family is not really), then it just won't happen, as it is not a priority for them - it's just "not that important" to them, else it would have been done.
>Sucks that this all happened. Doesn't mean we can't all stay in touch, right? And doesn't mean we're ever likely to forget the man. As a slop artist, I learned a lot from studying his work, I've even been thinking of doing more art of Val and her daughters in bondage. And I may still.>I'll be here for a while longer - haven't totally forgotten or dropped off the planet yet. All you old coots can start practising your art again now you're all approaching retirement age. :-pI've given up on the idea of world domination (too time consuming), but I've a fair list of things I claim I want to do, but if you really want to do them, you would. I've many, many hours of writing of fan-fiction that I haven't finished and posted to this group. I'd probably struggle to find where I've even stored it these days! At least one of the stories was not far from finished, so should probably find it and spend a few more hours and post it - that way all the dozens of previous hours aren't totally wasted (though I did enjoy writing them).
> I miss him too, Scraps..
>He certainly was an inspiration and motivator, as well as a font of ideas.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, if it is really important to you, you will find the time, else you're just kidding yourself.

In answer to how long does it take for you to be forgotten, I'd say four years has done it.
I've been on this group pretty much since the start, but even I haven't logged on to look at the group in over two months, and I'm supposed to be moderating. This includes the entire month of the fourth anniversary of Jim's passing.
http://www..skunked.com is no longer registered fails DNS name resolution.
The artwork and compilations everyone claimed were so important to carry on JMH's memory have all but been abandoned and forgotten; if it is really important to you, you spend time doing it - if not, then you are kidding yourself of its importance.
Proves that JMH participating with the group very much made the centre of enjoyment and kept things interesting, versus just the posting of new art.
Appears the dust has settled and everyone has moved on - such is life.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, it was fun while it lasted.

If Angry Viking Press is not able to finish the task, I wonder if there is someone else out there who can? Printing primarily, as there are sites such as Second Ed Mail Order, Rabbit Valley and probably other small operators who would sell this sort of stuff, even if it were for limited release.
It would require someone with control of the artwork / publishing rights to be able to step in and take back the 'master' so it can be printed elsewhere.
Cheetah - do you know if Pauline Hardiman or Jim's brothers have rights control of the master?
If we can get control of the master, it can then be arranged to printed, etc.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, a project is a problem scheduled for solution.

Which really sucks for those of us who backed the original AVP
kickstarter way back when.
