Party isn't quite over yet Warhound - listening to ideas, but no 'bolts of grand inspiration' at this time....

Yes..  The poll hasn't changed, suggesting that despite the number of members listed, this group is almost as dead as JMH.

I'm dropping the few other remaining groups that I am a member of, as they have been silent for ages and once the files go (that I either have already or don't care), then they will be of no benefit.  Mousey Love Girls really went bad after it was let go - spam central and they deleted the files!

>My guess is that people have moved on to newer platforms, but the interest is still there. Again, neither Omaha nor Sabrina are “over”, but their fans communicate through other means.

This is why I suggest there is no requirement to launch an alternate forum for communication.  People are either already communicating by which ever method.

Yes.  Piracy has preserved what official channels have not.  I think this group is really only a relay for hearing if the collected works actually become reprinted and released.

>The only thing worth preserving now are the logs of messages. In some ways, these are a journal of Hardimans life and his interactions with his fans, and it’d be sad to see it go to >waste. But at the same time, at least to me, this feels very personal and I don’t know how I’d feel about reading them for my own entertainment. I will however try to find a way to >preserve these logs, and I’d welcome any suggestions on how to do it. I’m not very clever in this regard.

I have applied (weeks ago now!) to Yahoo for a complete download of the group.  I would have thought it not that difficult, but the status shows my download request is still pending.  Three weeks left!  I will host it via Dropbox or similar for a while once I get it, for those who want to get a copy (the 10 of us still participating...)

It is noble that people want JMH to be remembered.  I have decided to live my life and let dead artists lie; I'm better to go do my own thing than worry about what was or could have been when I can go out and make it so.

>For what it’s worth, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to you Scrapper. You’ve obviously taken your custodianship of this group very seriously.. I hope you don’t see these changes as >a personal failing.

Thanks Warhound; it is good to be recognised for efforts.  I had promised JMH I would continue to run this group, within the limits of what it is..  Y! has reduced it to a mail relay, which can be used to keep in touch with any updates of the Collected Skunkworks.  Fans can still communicate through the other forums as you outlined, or even swap phone numbers and actually speak to each other if the desire exists!  Since there are no 'new' JMH art or WIP to be released, then this group is largely, other than the history, redundant.

I do have an account on Deviant Art, but have not used it in ages.  I'll have to try get my login details again...

I'll still be at this address - if people want me, they'll be able to find me.. :-)

Hey, it has been a fun few years - all good things come to an end.  Don't be sad it's over, be glad (and grateful) it happened.

Scrapper, Black Dragon, would you do things differently if you knew?
