They can add it, yes.
But as far as the law is concerned (I believe, since IANAL), Yahoo made a "good-faith attempt" to prevent people under 18 from seeing the smut.
This reduces their lability.

The thing I wonder is why, if somebody doesn't want to give their own age (which I can definitely understand) on their profile, they can't just add 10 or 15 years to it for good measure, in case anybody comes and checks. It's possible I've definitely missed something here. And if I have, please let me know.
