for all your hard work!
Well, for one thing, I'm not married and don't have any kids. That
alone allows a lot of "extra" time (I generally save the weekends for
getting together with Des).
Also, my life seems to operate on 30-hour days, which means I may
be living third shift for a few weeks, then eventually get into first
shift, then second shift, then right back into third shift. It's an
unusual schedule, but it allows me to get the most amount of work
done.
And thirdly, I'm self-employed. My "job" consists of producing and
selling mainstream artwork (with some furry art on the side). As
long as I've produced enough to pay the bills, I can take some time
off to work on furry art and websites.
Besides, I'm currently on third shift now, which means any riding
must be done at night. Now, I dunno about you, but it's a real nut-
shriveler out there at this time, with temps in the teens. I can
ride in the cold, but I don't necessarily like it.
Plus, it's safer to stay at home on cold nights to work on this
stuff. I recently laid the bike down at 40mph when somebody's dog
cut across my path on a dark country road. Next time, I'll just plow
through the animal. Luckily, I built this bike pretty tough (and
it's a Honda, after all), so I was able to fire it right back up and
continue on my ride for the night (try that on a Harley *cough
cough*). It wasn't until the following day when I noticed the
scraped paint, bent metal parts, torn shoulder on my jacket, and
partially mangled helmet. That's why I ride with a full-face helmet,
man. Keeps the brain-box in one piece. Aside from sore shoulders, I
didn't have any adverse side effects from my meeting with Rover.
I'll have to wait until it warms up though to take care of the
repainting. Oh well, it'll give me something to do when I'm not
building the Shadow.
And besides all that, I just want to get the site finished. It's
been a few years since it's been up and running, and I want to get it
back in gear. The way I see it, both "By The Tail" and "Skunkworks"
will be updated at the same time, while "Geb-Kah" (Onika's site) will
come several weeks later. I've got a bit of artwork to clean up for
that site. It's all drawn as rough drafts, but has to be inked and
colored. Ditto with the "Caterwaul" site.
All in good time, I suppose...
