I was afraid Jim had tight control. Was hoping Jim had set something up
with Scrapper if anything happened.
Scrapper, Yahoo has a protocol for finding a new successor for a group that has lost it's owner/moderator, ie, has passed away.
According to Yahoo Customer Care it's possible for a new owner/moderator
to be appointed if the group's members email addresses are not set to hidden.
Jim set the group to pass this condition; Then a veteran member like a moderator can ask for more control.
Contact them and see what they think. Apparently a poll will be set up by Yahoo main control for the groups members to see who becomes the next successor. (We do need more than one mod.)
Randy's and Cheetah's idea is good as well. I'm assuming a front web page would have to be set up if the group goes that way for either system.
Another option would be to create a Yahoo mirror group just like this one and transfer all art works, stories to the new Yahoo group. (Main weakness here is the membership list. Scrapper posted he can't see anyone. How the members could be notified about the new group would be the problem.)
See what Yahoo Customer Care says. Scrapper, might get some more control over the group.
Maybe someone can also contact Jim's Mom/family to see if the owners log-on and password are known somewhere.
