City of Toronto still have street cars that run on the electric cables overhead, in fact they are just installing a monster of a street car that is equivalent of 2 53' Trucks long on Speddina. When I drive through Toronto which is often, I see them take corners and see the boom jump the wire. Sparks everywhere, then the driver gets out and pulls on the rubber wire at the back of the car to the boom and gets it back on track to continue. Toronto is right now fixing Richmond street in the heart of Toronto for the rails in the street. Been working on that for a few years now.
